Since 2020, Steam has been running regular festival weeks where hundreds of upcoming games offer free demos for you to play. Steam Festivals (now called Next Fest) aren't sales, exactly, but they're another way to play games for cheap. These festivals usually happen close to Steam's bigger yearly sales, and Valve has also confirmed another Next Fest for later this year in October of 2023. Hell, that was on the fly and you think a company could at least think tank something that brings in millions of dollars in 10 days. Maybe a choose your own adventure timeline for the summer "ADVENTURE" sale where you can go back and see your choices or other steam members. It would have been neat if the 1 image a day of a few stick figures had easter eggs, or hidden challenges (maybe there was and I missed them) or it felt like our choices or actions made an impact, even if only on our own account in the form of achievements. a never ending level for a badge you can pay for. Even though I did do a little badge hunting to see what it was about, I felt there was no reason to participate, and the rewards were a joke. It is not like they have made this an anual event and had a year to prepare for this.Īfter getting my points in each day, I did I feel like the chance of a reward was not even remotely possible. It is not like they did not know that it was coming. I think the interactive side of the Summer Sale blew chunks. I have no clue why it was called an adventure though, I think "early release", "unfinished product", "market beta trail" would have suited this crap better. change it up and show us what a selection you have.
I don't care to see the same 7 titles on teh main page for 10 days. It also seemed like a lot of sales were hidden by clutter and junk. I was actually really disappointed that there was so few selections in the triple A game category. If you did not have them, the sale was probably better for you. Summer Sale '14 stunk for me because I have the few games that might have been interesting.
